Who is using my name on IMDb?

You may have recently found yourself listed on IMDb, that's great! However, fear not. IMDb is a database, not a social network. So nobody is impersonating you or using your identity online. Your IMDb Name page has been created so that your work can be recorded on the world's most popular and authoritative source for movie, TV and celebrity content, designed to help fans explore the world of movies and shows and decide what to watch.

In short, your IMDb Name page was likely derived from your filmography credits being added to titles you've worked on. Think of it this way, Alfred Hitchcock has an IMDb Name page (seen below), but died before the modern day internet was invented. As much as we'd like him to, Hitchcock doesn't manage his own IMDb Name page. But you can!

With that in mind, you can sign up to IMDb and have your very own IMDb user profile. With your IMDb profile, you can contribute or update information across the entirety of IMDb. You can also write reviews, rate titles, create lists and track what you're watching at the moment.
